What Information Is Needed for a Custom Bag Quotation

A practical checklist for a comparable quote: product, specifications, quantity and destination.

Youdou (Chongqing) Technology Co., Ltd.Updated 2026-09-06

01. Identify your purchasing requirement

Tell the supplier who is purchasing, what the bags will be used for and whether this is a new project or repeat order. Include your company name, contact person, business email and destination country or region. Choose the relevant product category and give a reference name if you already have one. Avoid sending confidential information that is not needed to prepare the quote.

02. Put all specifications in one place

List width, length, gussets, thickness and units. Add material preference, color, transparency, closure, bag style and printing. Describe intended contents and handling requirements. If a dimension is unknown, say so and offer a sample or drawing. Clear open questions are more useful than an assumed number that later needs to be changed.

03. Define quantity and packing

State the quantity you expect to buy and whether it refers to bags, rolls or cartons. Separate quantities for each size or printed version. Explain the desired roll count, carton count, labels and barcodes. Share a requested delivery window and destination so shipping and production discussions start with the same assumptions. Availability and timing still need confirmation.

04. Compare like-for-like offers

Review material, dimensions, print scope, packing and quantity alongside price. Ask whether samples, tooling, printing setup, delivery and destination documents are included or quoted separately. Confirm payment and shipping terms in writing. A complete quotation should identify what is agreed and what still requires sample or production review.
